BlackVue ELITE 8 2CH Dual 2K HDR Front & Rear Dash Cam

Matching 2K HDR views ahead and behind, with a low-power parking mode.

The BlackVue ELITE 8 2CH records 2560 × 1440 (2K) at 30FPS with HDR from both the front and rear cameras. Both use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors and 142° lenses, so the view through the rear window matches the detail ahead. Built-in GPS adds speed and location, and its Power Saving parking mode draws less than 1mA in standby, waking within about two seconds when it detects an impact.

This package includes front and rear road cameras. There is no cabin camera. A microSD card, a USB-C power cable, a 12V vehicle adapter and a 2-year manufacturer warranty are included. A hardwiring kit or battery pack for parking recording, the CPL-2 filter, the CM100G LTE module and any SIM or data plan are sold separately.

Parking recording and power

The included USB-C cable and vehicle adapter power the cameras while driving only; BlackVue specifies that USB-C power does not support parking mode. For parking recording, add a compatible hardwiring kit or a battery pack such as the BlackVue B-130A. Set the parking timer (1 to 48 hours) and voltage cutoff to suit your vehicle.

• Power Saving waits in standby and records after an impact, with no pre-impact buffer.
• Motion Detection buffers video continuously and saves triggered activity with 10 seconds of pre-event footage.
• Time Lapse records one frame per second for a fast overview of a parked period.

Runtime depends on battery capacity, mode, detected events, temperature and cutoff settings; there is no guaranteed number of days.

Cloud access and storage

Nearby Wi-Fi access works without a cellular plan. Remote Cloud features need the camera powered and online through a compatible hotspot or the optional CM100G LTE module, plus a BlackVue account. LTE is not built in. Because Power Saving sleeps between impacts, choose a continuously powered mode if you want ongoing remote access.

Video saves as H.264 MP4 files to compatible BlackVue microSD cards up to 1TB. At default High quality, BlackVue estimates about 3 hours of combined front and rear footage per 64GB. Up to 50 event files can be protected from loop overwrite, but formatting erases them, so export important clips.

Setup notes

Mount the front camera behind the rearview mirror and the rear camera on the rear-window glass. Aim both and check a short test recording for reflections before finalizing the mounts. The optional BlackVue CPL-2 filter can reduce dashboard reflections. Route cables clear of airbags, and use the touch sensor to save a manual event when needed.
