4K detail ahead. A compact, front-only setup.
The VIOFO A119M Pro dash cam combines 4K HDR recording, a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, Wi-Fi 6 and GPS in a compact camera with a 1.5-inch display. It gives you a clear way to review the road ahead without installing multiple cameras.
This is a single-channel front camera with no rear- or cabin-camera expansion. The GPS mount, car charger and CPL-100 filter are included. A microSD card, parking-mode hardwire kit and optional BTR200 remote are sold separately. The package includes an 18-month manufacturer warranty.
Key features
-
4K HDR front recording: records 3840 × 2160 at 30FPS. HDR helps balance bright and dark areas around headlights, shadows and tunnel exits.
-
Sony STARVIS 2 sensor: the 1/1.8-inch, 8MP IMX678 is paired with an F1.8 lens and 140° field of view for road context ahead.
-
Included CPL-100 filter: helps reduce dashboard and windshield reflections. Adjust it during installation and check saved daytime and low-light footage.
-
Local Wi-Fi 6 access: use a nearby phone with the VIOFO app over 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi to preview footage, change settings and download clips.
-
GPS context: location and speed accompany saved footage. The GPS mount supports GPS, BeiDou, Galileo and GLONASS.
-
Voice controls and notifications: supported commands operate common camera functions, while spoken notifications help identify recording or storage problems. The optional BTR200 remote adds a physical control option.
Understand the recording view
The A119M Pro records only the road ahead. Choose a two- or three-channel system if you need rear or cabin coverage; another camera cannot be added to this model.
HDR and Super Night Vision processing help with changing light and darker scenes, but readable license plates are not guaranteed. Speed, distance, weather, glare, lens cleanliness and alignment affect results. Review daylight and nighttime test recordings after installation.
Parking recording requires compatible power
Continued parking recording requires a supported permanent power connection. The optional VIOFO HK4 or HK6 hardwire kit is sold separately. Install current A119M Pro firmware and follow its menu guidance for the supported parking options.
-
Buffered Auto Event Detection: saves 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after detection.
-
Time-lapse: records fewer frames without sound.
-
Low-bitrate: records continuously with audio in smaller files.
-
Low-power impact detection: with supported firmware, standby wakes after an impact. VIOFO specifies about two seconds to wake, followed by a one-minute recording. It has no pre-impact buffer and does not wake simply because someone walks past.
-
Hybrid Parking Recording: starts in 1FPS time-lapse, low-bitrate or event recording, then switches to low-power impact standby at the configured time or voltage. HK4 supports time-based transition; HK6 is required for voltage-based controls.
Set an appropriate parking duration and battery-protection threshold, then test the installation. Recording stops when power or a configured limit is reached. Timers and cutoffs reduce battery use but do not guarantee unlimited runtime. The supercapacitor helps finish and save the current recording when power is interrupted; it is not a battery for continued recording.
Phone access and file transfers
Wi-Fi provides local access, not cloud monitoring. There is no built-in LTE connection, remote vehicle tracking or remote parking notification service. Download a recording first to view its GPS map in the VIOFO app or a compatible PC player.
VIOFO advertises Wi-Fi transfers up to 30MB/s under interference-free test conditions. Actual speed depends on your phone, radio conditions and file size. Save the original incident file before editing or compressing a copy for sharing.
Direct wired retrieval requires a compatible USB 2.0 USB-C to USB-C data cable and a phone that supports the connection and supplies 5V/2A. A charging-only cable will not transfer files. This cable is separate from the supplied USB-A to USB-C data cable. VIOFO's up-to-20MB/s example uses an iPhone 16 and does not establish the speed for every device.
Storage and important recordings
A compatible high-endurance microSD card up to 512GB is required and sold separately. Loop recording overwrites older ordinary files as storage fills; recording settings and parking use affect retained history. G-sensor and manual file protection help preserve selected events, but copy important footage promptly.
Back up existing files before formatting the card in the camera. Power the camera off before inserting or removing the card. Check saved recordings and card health regularly.

Installation and setup notes
Use the supplied mounting materials on clean, dry glass. Position the camera discreetly behind the rearview mirror within the area cleared by the wipers, while leaving access to its controls and memory-card slot. Route cables clear of airbags, aim the lens correctly and check the installation before driving.
Adjust the included CPL filter using the preview and short test recordings. Confirm the date, time and GPS reception after installation, particularly with windshield coatings that may affect satellite signals. Set up the camera before driving, learn supported voice commands and confirm important clips are saved when it is safe to stop.
Use current firmware for the exact A119M Pro model before configuring low-power or Hybrid parking options. Follow the matching hardwire-kit installation instructions and verify the selected timer, cutoff and recording behavior.
