The VIOFO A119 Mini 2 combines 2K QHD recording, a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor and built-in GPS in a compact, front-facing dash cam. Dual-band Wi-Fi lets you review and download footage on a nearby phone, while voice controls help you manage supported functions without reaching for the camera.

Front-Only Camera, Clearly Defined

This package includes one front camera with a GPS mount. It does not support adding a rear camera. A microSD card, HK4 hardwire kit, CPL-100 filter and BTR200 Bluetooth remote are sold separately.

Key Features

• Choose smoother motion or HDR: Record at 2560 × 1440 and 60FPS with HDR off, or 30FPS with HDR on to balance bright and dark areas. HDR and 60FPS cannot be used together.
• Sony STARVIS 2 imaging: The IMX675 sensor, F1.6 lens and Super Night Vision 2.0 help capture difficult lighting conditions through a 140° field of view. Plate visibility still varies with speed, distance, weather and available light.
• Local phone access: Connect through 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi to use the VIOFO app for playback, downloads and settings. GPS records route and speed information.
• Discreet installation: A compact body and 1.5-inch LCD suit placement near the rear-view mirror, with a clear view through the windshield.
• Voice control and notifications: Supported commands manage recording, photos and Wi-Fi. Spoken notifications report settings changes and memory-card errors. The optional BTR200 remote adds clip locking and configurable shortcuts.
• Parking recording options: Choose buffered Auto Event Detection, time-lapse or low-bitrate recording when the camera has a suitable continuous power supply.

Parking Mode and Power Requirements

The separately sold VIOFO HK4 USB-C hardwire kit supplies constant power and an ignition signal for automatic parking-mode switching. Match the installation and voltage cutoff to your vehicle, and test the setup before relying on it. An ignition-switched accessory socket stops supplying power when the vehicle is off.

• Buffered Auto Event Detection: Saves 15 seconds before and 30 seconds after detection.
• Time-lapse: Records at 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10FPS without audio.
• Low-bitrate: Records continuously with audio using smaller files.

Recording stops when power or a configured limit is reached. The supercapacitor helps save the last file when power stops; it is not a recording battery and cannot power parking mode by itself.

Important Connection and Compatibility Notes

Wi-Fi connects to a nearby phone, not to the car remotely. This camera has no cellular connection, cloud storage or remote parking alerts. GPS records journey data; it is not live vehicle tracking. Download footage before viewing its GPS map in the app or a compatible computer player. Bluetooth is for the optional remote, not for transferring video to your phone.

The optional CPL-100 filter can help with dashboard reflections. If using a windshield accessory such as Aqua Shield, follow its placement instructions so it does not obstruct the camera. The A119 Mini 2 is a different model from the older A119 V3 and the 4K A119M Pro; use accessories and firmware intended for your exact camera.

Setup and Firmware

Position the camera with a clear road view, keep the lens and windshield clean, and check saved footage from a familiar route. Choose the voice language in the camera and practice commands while parked. Copy important recordings before loop recording overwrites older files.

Before updating firmware, check the serial number behind the GPS mount or on the box. The listed firmware filenames are FWA119MN.bin for serial numbers beginning A119MN and FWA119M2.bin for those beginning A119MS.
