The Thinkware U3000 Pro 2CH dash cam records the road ahead in 4K and following traffic in 2K. Sony STARVIS 2 sensors serve both cameras, while built-in radar offers a parking-recording option for drivers who want front-and-rear coverage without a screen on the windshield.

This package includes front and rear-window cameras, an OBD-II power cable, a 64GB microSD card and a front CPL filter. No cabin camera is included. This new Thinkware dash cam has a one-year warranty. A separate hardwiring cable, battery pack, LTE Module, CONNECTED service plan and interior camera are not included.

Key features

• 4K front or higher-frame-rate 2K: choose 3840 × 2160 at 30FPS or 2560 × 1440 at 60FPS. The front Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor has a 147° diagonal field of view. This model does not record 4K at 60FPS.
• 2K rear coverage: the supplied BCQH-600 rear camera records 2560 × 1440 at 30FPS with a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX675 sensor and 156° diagonal field of view. It faces backward through the rear window, not into the cabin.
• Radar in both cameras: built-in front and rear radar detects movement for the selected parking mode. Recording duration depends on power, settings, temperature and activity, not a guaranteed all-day runtime.
• Nearby phone access: Bluetooth assists pairing, and 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi connects to Thinkware DASH CAM LINK for setup, live view and downloads without a cellular plan.
• Built-in GPS and GLONASS: location information adds context to saved recordings. Forward-collision, front-vehicle departure and traffic-light change alerts notify the driver; they do not control the vehicle.
• Included recording essentials: a 64GB card starts your storage setup, and the supplied front CPL filter can reduce dashboard reflections. Compatible UHS-I microSD cards up to 512GB are supported.

HDR and night-recording settings

HDR balances exposure in high-contrast scenes during continuous driving recording, with front HDR available at 4K resolution. The existing model documentation also lists rear HDR support; HDR is not a parking-mode feature. Super Night Vision 4.0 is a separate low-light setting that can be assigned to driving, parking or both.

HDR and Super Night Vision cannot operate simultaneously. Compare saved daylight and nighttime clips after changing settings. Speed, light, weather, reflections and camera alignment affect visible detail. Adjust the front CPL filter and check recordings after installation.

Parking recording and power

The included OBD-II cable can support parking recording in a compatible installation. Check your exact vehicle before ordering. A matching OBD-II socket alone does not confirm compatibility, especially on some EVs, older vehicles and commercial vehicles. Follow the cable's vehicle and parking-switch instructions before connecting it, then test recording with the ignition on and off.

• Radar: movement triggers a 20-second clip. If an impact occurs, an event may include up to ten seconds of earlier motion footage when that footage exists. This is not an unconditional continuous pre-impact buffer.
• Motion Detection: saves a 20-second clip with ten seconds before and ten seconds after detected movement or impact.
• Time Lapse: records at 2FPS, compressing ten minutes into two minutes. An impact event covers 50 seconds before and after, compressed into a 20-second clip.
• Energy Saving: wakes after an impact and records for 20 seconds. It does not capture footage before impact.

Back up recordings before changing parking modes. The manual warns that changing modes deletes videos recorded under the previous settings. Select one mode at a time and test its behavior. Metallic tinted glass may reduce radar detection.

Parking runtime depends on power capacity, cutoff settings, temperature, recording mode and detected activity. The supercapacitor is not a battery for overnight recording. An optional compatible Thinkware iVOLT battery pack provides a separate power source with the correct cable and installation settings. Smart Parking can reduce power use under certain heat or supported external-battery conditions; it does not guarantee uninterrupted recording.

Local access, LTE and optional cabin recording

Nearby DASH CAM LINK access is separate from remote monitoring. Thinkware CONNECTED services require the optional LTE Module, its included Thinkware SIM, supported service, power and network coverage. Available features and service periods depend on the plan and region. Local Wi-Fi alone does not provide remote live view or parking notifications.

Using local Live View, remote Live View or Premium parking-impact Dual Save changes SD-card recordings to QHD (2K). The LTE Module is not memory expansion. For SOS recording, the manual describes holding REC for three seconds to save ten seconds of footage, including five seconds before and after. Connected upload requires sign-in and a working connection. Test notifications with your intended parking mode.

The optional U3000 Pro Interior IR Camera adds 1080p infrared cabin recording during continuous driving, in one-minute segments. It has no microphone of its own and does not add cabin parking surveillance. The interior camera and LTE Module share one accessory port and cannot operate together. The rear-window camera can remain connected with the cabin camera. Seats and occupants may obstruct parts of the view.

Storage and important recordings

The included 64GB microSD card and adapter are supplied with this kit. Compatible UHS-I cards in 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB capacities are supported. Video uses H.265 in an MP4 container with AAC audio; playback requires a compatible device or player.

Loop recording overwrites older files. Export important original clips promptly, and back them up before formatting or changing parking modes. Recording time varies with resolution, connected cameras and storage allocation. Check card health and recordings regularly.

Installation and setup notes

Mount the front camera for a clear road view and the rear camera on rear-window glass. Check saved views after fitting and route cables safely. Follow the OBD-II cable instructions for the exact vehicle and test driving-to-parking transitions before relying on parking recording. Confirm radar performance if the vehicle has metallic tinted glass.

Thermal protection can alter recording functions or shut the camera down in excessive heat. It does not make temperatures outside the specified operating range suitable for continuous use. Keep the phone app, exact-model firmware and supported safety-camera data current. Set up and review the system while safely parked.
